Job Description

Homes for Students is the leading independent provider of student accommodation. We are looking for a bold and inspiring Senior Designer to join our growing team. The Senior Designer will assist with the creation and delivery of engaging creative across multiple online and offline channels, working closely with the Marketing Team to deliver campaigns, brand collateral, and digital assets.

This role requires working 40 hours per week, from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday. Under the direction of the Design Manager, the Senior Designer will deliver high-quality creative work with consistent branding across various platforms including web, social media, print, and marketing touchpoints. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of ideas and creative thinking, along with a strong understanding of effective design practices.

Requirements

Major Duties:

• Lead the delivery of artwork for seasonal marketing campaigns.
• Manage the pipeline of design projects and tasks.
• Oversee the design process from creative development to artwork sign-off.
• Ensure that all design work meets brand standards and is executed with creativity and speed.
• Maintain awareness of new design trends and apply them appropriately.
• Manage multiple projects and communicate progress to wider teams.
• Support and mentor the design team in their projects and personal development.
• Coordinate production and distribution of print materials and digital assets.
• Create clear campaign communication packs as needed.
• Recommend optimizations for campaigns as necessary.
• Keep informed on trends in the student accommodation market and suggest enhancements.
• Liaise with suppliers and freelance staff for artwork production.
• Maintain collateral within brand guidelines and support the wider business in compliance.
• Occasional national travel may be required.
• Undertake other related tasks as assigned by the Design Manager.

Skills:

• Strong design skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong written English skills.
• Proven track record in design and creativity.
• Experience with social media and email marketing campaigns.
• Intermediate to advanced level in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and manage tight deadlines.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Essential:

• A detailed portfolio showcasing previous work.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign & After Effects.
• Good understanding of social media marketing assets.
• Strong attention to detail.
• At least two years of design experience with a proven commercial track record.

Desirable:

• A degree in graphic design or a related subject.
• Experience in marketing and design within the student sector.
• Experience managing workloads or a team.
