We have an opportunity with our client for an experienced Mobile Application Developer - (Xamarin). This is initially a 6-month contract role with a high probability of extensions for the right candidate. Location of work: Sydney and Melbourne. Our client is looking for an innovative and ambitious Mobile Developer with expertise in Xamarin development to join their fast-paced and solution-oriented team. In this role, you will design and develop cross-platform mobile applications using Xamarin. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality applications that perform well on both iOS and Android platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Mobile App Development: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance mobile applications for iOS and Android using Xamarin and .NET technologies.
• Cross-Platform Solutions: Leverage Xamarin’s shared codebase to create seamless experiences across different platforms while optimizing for each device’s capabilities.
• Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with UX/UI designers, backend developers, and product managers to define app features, user flows, and overall functionality.
• Bug Fixes and Optimization: Troubleshoot, test, and debug applications to ensure they run smoothly on multiple devices and screen sizes.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest trends in mobile development and Xamarin technologies, incorporating new techniques and tools into your development practices.
• Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, following best practices and coding standards. Perform code reviews and contribute to maintaining a high standard of code quality within the team.
• Performance Tuning: Ensure the app is optimized for speed and performance, particularly for mobile-specific requirements like battery life and memory usage.
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for the development process, codebase, and application architecture.

Requirements

• Proven experience in mobile development using Xamarin and C#.
• Strong knowledge of Xamarin.Forms and Xamarin.Native (iOS and Android development).
• Experience working with RESTful APIs and integrating third-party libraries.
• Familiarity with mobile app development best practices, UI/UX principles, and debugging tools.
• Experience with version control tools like Git.
• Strong understanding of mobile app performance optimization and memory management.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio and related development tools.
• Familiarity with App Store/Play Store submission processes and handling deployment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Xamarin.iOS and Xamarin.Android for platform-specific development.
• Knowledge of Azure or other cloud-based technologies for backend integration.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for mobile app development.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as XUnit, NUnit, or Xamarin Test Cloud.
• Exposure to Agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Trello.
