Job Description
Next Level Games is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nintendo Co., Ltd., focused on video game development for 20 years, delivering award-winning titles worldwide. This position is for a Senior Gameplay Animator who will work alongside designers, engineers, and fellow animators to create and implement animation content while addressing design questions and prototyping new gameplay forms. The role requires proactive communication, curiosity, organization, reliability, and a willingness to provide and receive constructive feedback.
Requirements
• Proven ability to create high quality, hand keyed animation.
• Proficient in Maya.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with gameplay design and mechanics.
• Solid understanding of 3D pipelines, technical systems, and best practices.
• Experience shipping at least one game as a gameplay animator or have 5+ years of games industry experience.
• Python, state machine design, and rigging experience are a bonus.

This is a hybrid position, requiring at least three days per week at our Vancouver studio. The hiring range for this position is $91,000 to $114,000 CAD annually, subject to change based on skills, education, and experience. Only applicants with work eligibility residing in or willing to relocate to Metro Vancouver will be considered, and only those under consideration will be contacted.
