Job Description

Unlocking Language is a leading speech and language therapy provider dedicated to empowering children and young people to communicate with confidence. We are expanding our clinic-based services and are looking for a passionate and creative Music Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in Canary Wharf, London. The role involves working with toddlers, children, and young people, including those with special educational needs (SEN), and utilizing music-based interventions to support emotional expression, communication skills, and overall well-being.

Requirements

• HCPC-registered Music Therapist (or eligible for registration).

• Experience working with children and young people, particularly those with SEN.

• Strong understanding of speech and language development and how music therapy can support communication.

• Ability to develop services and work autonomously.

• Ability to engage young clients through play-based, interactive, and creative approaches.

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver individual and group music therapy sessions tailored to children with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) and/or SEN.

• Work closely with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educators to provide integrated therapy.

• Use music, rhythm, and movement to help children develop social interaction, confidence, and emotional regulation.

• Adapt sessions for children with autism, developmental delays, sensory needs, and other complex conditions.

• Provide support and guidance to families, carers, and school staff on using music as a therapeutic tool.

Pay: £25.00-£35.00 per hour
