Job Description
Are you a creative, detail-oriented graphic designer with a passion for visual storytelling? The Chicago Sky are seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, and creative Graphic Designer (Seasonal) to join our dynamic team and contribute to our creative projects. As a Graphic Designer (Seasonal), you will play a crucial role in collaborating on our creative endeavors and helping bring our brand to life. This is a hybrid, part time role based in Chicago.
Key Responsibilities Areas:
- Work closely with the Creative team to support their initiatives, bringing your unique perspective and creativity to the table.
- Transform strategic concepts into visually compelling, original designs that resonate with our target audience.
- Actively participate in team brainstorming sessions and design reviews, contributing fresh ideas and insights.
- Demonstrate exceptional proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite tools, including Photoshop and Illustrator. Proficiency in After Effects and PowerPoint are a bonus.
- Ability to adhere to a brand/season style guides to ensure graphics align with the current design standards.
- Assist in additional organizational creative needs including but not limited to print graphics, digital/social graphics, billboards, email marketing, flyers, signage, promotional items, logo design, partnership decks etc.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently deliver creative work that is both accurate and consistent.
- Strong conceptual thinking skills with the ability to understand brand strategy and apply it across all aspects of projects.
- Willingness to accept feedback on design work from the Sr. Manager of Brand Creative & Design and other departments.
- Bring a creative, resourceful, and problem-solving mindset to your work.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
- Possess an enthusiastic, creative, and curious personality, eager to explore new design trends and techniques.
Requirements
- At least 1-2 years of professional experience in a similar role. Experience in the sports industry is preferred but not essential.
- Proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite β Strong skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. (After Effects knowledge is a plus).
- Ability to work in project management software.
- Must submit strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects and a demonstrated ability to elevate the creative look and feel of a brand. Portfolio should show knowledge of design theory including principles such as color, typography, composition skills, logo design, artistic ability, and creativity.
- Working knowledge of sports, social media, in-game entertainment, and ability to meet tight timelines.
- Demonstrate the qualities of a strong team player by collaborating effectively with others to foster a positive and creative team culture.
- Extremely detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Attention to detail, both visually and grammatically.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must be based in Chicago as this is a hybrid role.
- Able to work up to 30 hours a week, including nights and weekends when required.
- Must be able to attend ALL home games at Wintrust Arena.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Portfolio required for consideration.
Compensation
$20-27 per hour, up to 30 hours a week.
