Job Description

Provoc, a strategic marketing and communications firm specializing in outcome-driven design, is seeking freelance designers for various communication projects with nonprofits, foundations, and clients focused on equity and social justice. This is not a full-time job posting or immediate opportunity; designers will be engaged on a by-project contract basis as future opportunities arise. Interested designers should submit their portfolio, resume, rates, areas of expertise, and any questions via the designated form. Requirements

Qualifications

  • Logo design experience
  • Familiarity with experimental web technologies (e.g., WebGL, JavaScript rich media)
  • Web development and coding skills (prototyping, tools like Webflow or Framer)
  • High accessibility standards implementation experience
  • Video treatments (intros, outros, lower thirds, basic animation)
  • Experience in campaign or social strategy
  • Custom graphics and illustrations design experience
  • Animation, motion graphics, and video skills
  • 3D graphic implementation
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Google documents (Docs, Sheets, Slides)

Collaboration and Availability

Provoc operates as a fully remote company using platforms such as Slack, Basecamp, and Zoom for collaboration. Designers are expected to be available primarily between 8am-8pm ET, Monday to Thursday, facilitating work with U.S.-based clients and colleagues.

  • Bridge design and strategy, translating strategies into design language.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and clients for shared understanding.
  • Generate multiple ideas quickly while remaining open to new concepts.
  • Workshop ideas live with clients and take initiative in design projects.
  • Stay updated on current design trends and estimate time for tasks accurately.
