Location: Remote (UK timezone preferred)

Type: Voluntary, with potential to grow into a paid role

Commitment: Flexible – typically ~16 hours/week

Operating as a remote team of six, we’re now preparing our first rollouts with universities in the UK and US. This is a unique opportunity to shape a mission-driven product at a pivotal stage—you won’t just design screens; you’ll help define how universities support student wellbeing at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design engaging, intuitive mobile interfaces

• Create wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes

• Conduct UX research, including surveys, interviews, and usability testing

• Iterate designs based on user feedback and performance data

• Contribute to the product roadmap and collaborate on feature prioritisation

• Enhance sales and marketing materials with creative design input

• Stay up to date with industry trends and design best practices

Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with a strong focus on mobile app design

• Proficient in Figma for wireframing, prototyping, and design system management

• Skilled at handing over designs to developers, with clear documentation and communication

• Strong grasp of UX principles including accessibility, user flows, and information architecture

• Confident conducting user research, using frameworks like Jobs To Be Done (JTBD) or similar to deeply understand user needs

• Experience iterating on designs based on user feedback, usability testing, and performance data

• Solid understanding of design fundamentals: colour theory, typography, and layout

• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative, team-first mindset
