Job Description

Provoc, a strategic marketing and communications firm specializing in outcome-driven design, is building a bench of freelance designers for various communication projects with nonprofits, foundations, and other clients focused on equity and social justice. This is not a full-time position or immediate opportunity; designers will be engaged on a project-by-project contract basis as opportunities arise. We encourage submissions from a diverse range of candidates, particularly those who are often underrepresented in the industry.

Requirements

Designers should possess experience in one or more of the following core services and/or specializations:

• Logo Design: Experience in crafting logo designs.
• Experimental Web Technologies: Knowledge of technologies like WebGL and JavaScript-rich media; web development skills such as prototyping and familiarity with tools like Webflow or Framer are preferred.
• Video Treatments: Experience in creating intros, outros, lower thirds, and basic animations.
• Campaign/Social Strategy: Background in conceptualizing and designing graphics, especially related to campaigns.
• Animation: Ability in motion graphics and video production, including 3D graphic implementation.
• Tools: Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Google documents (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
• Design and Accessibility Standards: Must understand and implement design standards that address equity, inclusivity, bias, and the needs of diverse audiences.

Collaboration Process

At Provoc, our team operates remotely and uses platforms like Slack, Basecamp, and Zoom for both live and asynchronous collaboration. Designers may work directly with clients or only internally, depending on project scope.
