Job Description

Paladone is seeking a creative and talented junior packaging designer for flexible freelance opportunities at their head office in Shoreham By Sea. This role offers the chance to work on innovative packaging solutions for global brands. Freelance Junior Packaging Designers will join a pool for ad-hoc assignments as required, not as full-time employees. The opportunity includes collaboration with a talented design team and involvement in packaging concepts for major brands.

Freelancers must be able to work on-site as this is an office-based role. Assignments can vary throughout the year, particularly peaking from June to October, and can range from 1-2 days per week to several weeks at a time.

Requirements

Essential skills:

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Strong understanding of design principles and layout.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in design.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable skills (a bonus, but not essential!):

• Experience with point-of-sale (POS) design.
• Understanding of packaging die-cuts and production constraints.
• Knowledge of print production processes and preparing artwork files.

Important Information

This is a freelance position, meaning designers will not be employees of Paladone. Work will be assigned flexibly, depending on project needs, and assignments can vary from short-term (1-2 days per week) to longer contracts lasting several weeks. The busiest period for assignments is from June to October, but work may be available during other times as well. Freelancers must be able to commute and work on-site at the Shoreham-By-Sea headquarters.
