Job Description
Part-time position (3 days per week, 21 hours) on a Fixed Term basis until 06 October 2026. The salary ranges from £29,888 to £32,602 per annum pro rata (pay award pending), along with a generous benefits package and hybrid/flexible working options.
Are you passionate about storytelling and digital innovation? We are seeking a talented Digital Content Producer to shape and deliver engaging digital experiences that connect audiences with our museum’s unique collection and public programs. This role is essential in developing, managing, and delivering digital content that enhances public interaction while maintaining high standards of accuracy and creativity.
Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the production of content and managing external content creators in alignment with content and audience strategies.
- Writing briefs and procuring suppliers for original content delivery, based on schedules and content calendars.
- Maintaining best practices for publishing across platforms and ensuring editorial guidelines are followed.
- Creating audience-focused content (written and multimedia) for various channels and in-gallery use.
- Scheduling and optimizing content according to internal guidelines and best practices.
- Liaising with colleagues, artists, and stakeholders for diverse content development, while conducting relevant audience research.
- Assisting with operational practices and quality control for collection content associated with digital media systems and rights management.
- Liaising with external content suppliers and stakeholders for large-scale digital projects.
- Providing ongoing administrative support, including budget administration.
- Supervising volunteers and trainees as project needs arise.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you’ll need the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and video editing software.
- Proven expertise in researching and developing content for various digital platforms.
- In-depth understanding of media production workflows and dependencies.
- Skilled in proofreading, web writing, and multimedia content creation.
- Understanding of digital storytelling techniques for diverse audiences.
- Experience in asset management and CMS administration.
- Excellent written and editorial skills for clear presentation of information.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to plan and work independently.
It would also be advantageous to have:
- Educational background (degree level or equivalent) in Digital Media or similar qualifications.
- Passion for Scottish art, culture, and heritage.
- Understanding of copyright and licensing procedures.
- Knowledge of design thinking, information architecture, and user experience best practices.
- Familiarity with commitments relating to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
