Job Description

The Daily Mail’s Shows Team is seeking a highly skilled Animator with experience in both 2D and 3D animation to create striking visuals for shows like Battle Board and Geopolitics on Tape. These programmes demand a cinematic approach to illustrating modern warfare, tactics, and global affairs — often blending maps, motion graphics, and stylised recreations.

Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality 2D and 3D animations for YouTube documentaries and explainers.
• Design animated maps, tactical visuals, and cinematic recreations of real-world events.
• Collaborate closely with writers, producers, and editors to ensure visual storytelling aligns with editorial tone and direction.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Expert proficiency in After Effects and Blender.
• Familiarity with Cinema 4D, and Mocha AE.
• Strong understanding of design, motion graphics, and compositing workflows.
• Ability to manage multiple animation tasks under tight deadlines.

Desirable

• Interest in geopolitics, history, or international conflict storytelling.
• Experience working on broadcast or documentary-style content.

Location: MailOnline Head Office – London

Position: Initial 3 month FTC, with a view to being extended.
