Job Description

We are qVault.ai, an EdTech SaaS startup co-led by students and professors at King’s College London, focusing on educational innovation and research-driven learning. We are building an AI-powered study tool and seek a talented Frontend Developer with a strong UI/UX focus to help us craft a high-quality user experience that is clean, modern, and intuitive. You will collaborate with backend and frontend developers, primarily owning the UI/UX design and frontend implementation, aiming for refined and elegant interfaces while ensuring timely delivery, API connectivity, and contribution to frontend development workflows.

Requirements

Experience & Expectations:

• Prior experience in frontend UI/UX development is essential.
• A strong portfolio showing modern, refined, interactive interfaces is required.
• Proficient in React.js, modern CSS, and responsive/mobile-first design.
• Confident in using Fetch API to connect frontend and backend components.
• Skilled in building interactive and animated UI features.
• Strong attention to detail in layout, spacing, colour, and typography.
• Comfortable working in a startup-style environment with quick sprints and tight feedback loops.
• Professional communication, strong time management, and a solid work ethic are must-haves.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement responsive, polished UI components using React.js and module.css.
• Translate user and product requirements into sleek, user-friendly layouts and interactions.
• Build smooth, dynamic UI elements using CSS animations, transitions, and pseudo-classes.
• Ensure performance optimisation, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility compliance.
• Rapidly iterate and prototype interface ideas with quick turnaround times.
• Integrate with backend endpoints using Fetch API or equivalent.
• Debug UI issues and contribute to cohesive frontend workflows alongside other developers.
• Maintain clean, modular, and maintainable code.
