Job Title: Digital Video Shooter/Editor
Reports to: Senior Producer
Department: Video Production
Location: Leeds
Job Grade: P1
Duration: 12 month Fixed Term Contract (Secondment for internal employees)
Working alongside a dedicated team of digital creatives, you will be creating original social media content for multiple platforms. This includes filming and editing original digital productions and supporting larger scale shoots to meet the channels’ marketing aims. The role requires a passion for content and strong knowledge of what works digitally across social media platforms, alongside technical expertise in camera work and editing.
Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience:
- You should ideally have experience on several professional productions and worked on shoots as a camera operator.
- You should be a good troubleshooter for camera, lighting and sound equipment.
- You will have a good understanding of camera profiles, formats, lenses, composition, as well as data wrangling, ingestion, and distribution.
- You will have experience in the digital/social editing world, with the ability to edit content at scale and under tight deadlines.
- Strong experience in editing creative projects to meet the creative brief.
- Thorough understanding of processes, workflows, tools, and methodologies.
- Understanding of post-production processes including colour-correcting edits, exporting, and delivering assets to various technical specifications.
- Exemplary camera and Premiere Pro skills. Knowledge of After Effects is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
As the Digital Video Shooter/Editor, you will:
- Be technically proficient with various digital production techniques and camera equipment.
- Film and edit engaging youth content, with an awareness of best practices across multiple platforms.
- Manage and troubleshoot multicamera shoots, if required.
- Collaborate with teams to film and edit unique digital and social-first content.
- Stay updated on evolving creative and technical video production processes.
- Understand and implement the nuances of shooting for different social media formats.
- Maintain a good working relationship with Legal & Compliance departments.
- Ability to manage competing stakeholder demands and make decisions under pressure.
- Deliver topical content quickly to align with current trends.
