Position: Video Editor – Freelance
Overview: KTC is a full-service, socially forward boutique agency composed of seasoned creatives and former-agency executives. We focus on executing cutting-edge marketing campaigns and have over 20 years of award-winning experience. We seek a skilled Video Editor to join our team for an exciting project that involves editing recap videos from a recent conference. The Video Editor will transform raw footage into polished, engaging content that highlights key moments, sessions, and takeaways from the event, which will be used for promotional purposes and shared with attendees and online audiences.
Responsibilities
- Edit raw conference footage into concise, engaging recap videos.
- Collaborate with the project manager and content team to understand the vision, objectives, and messaging for each video.
- Trim and arrange video footage to ensure seamless flow and audience engagement.
- Add text overlays, graphics, animations, and captions to enhance the video’s impact.
- Integrate sound effects, background music, and voiceovers for high-quality audio and visual presentation.
- Ensure videos meet technical and creative requirements, including formatting and resolution.
- Review footage to identify highlights and key discussions for the recap videos.
- Manage and organize raw video files, edits, and final outputs efficiently.
- Collaborate closely with the project team to deliver videos on time.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a video editor, preferably with experience in editing event recaps or conference videos.
- Proficiency with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
- Strong understanding of video storytelling, pacing, and editing techniques.
- Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and high-quality standards for both video and audio.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
- Familiarity with adding graphics, motion design, and color correction is a plus.
- Knowledge of video formats, codecs, and file compression.
- A portfolio or reel showcasing previous video editing work (preferably with event or recap-style videos).
- Minimum 2-3 years of professional video editing experience in a corporate, agency, or freelance environment.
