Job Description

As a UI/UX Lead located in Toronto, Ontario, you will be responsible for leading and managing the migration of legacy user interfaces to modern JavaScript and CSS technologies. Your role will involve ensuring high-quality standards and best practices while collaborating with cross-functional teams including designers, backend developers, and product managers to define UI requirements and ensure seamless integration.

Your responsibilities will also include providing technical leadership on migration strategies, selecting appropriate frameworks and tools, developing reusable and maintainable front-end solutions in modern JavaScript and CSS frameworks, and ensuring optimized UI components for performance and scalability. Additionally, you will oversee the implementation of responsive design principles, lead code reviews, and mentor junior team members. Troubleshooting front-end issues and collaborating with the QA team on testing will be part of your daily tasks, along with providing regular updates and documenting architecture and technical specifications.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

• Strong experience in modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) and CSS frameworks.
• Proficiency in UI/UX design principles and responsive design.
• Experience in overseeing UI migrations and providing technical leadership.
• Ability to optimize UI components for performance and cross-browser compatibility.
• Strong mentoring skills to guide junior team members.
• Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with the latest front-end trends, frameworks, and tools.
