Welcome to the transformative power of turning our darkest, most complex emotions into magic, art, and the ability to change lives. I'm Ranya Iyer, a South Asian singer, songwriter, and music producer specializing in dark pop and emotive genres. I grew up in Singapore and now live in London, where I'm surrounded by a global network of artists and friends who inspire me every day. Vocally, I consider myself a master. I've trained for eight years under prestigious academies like The Vocal Studio and Thunder Rock School, and I've performed at renowned venues in Singapore, including the Esplanade. In 2021, I earned my teaching license and started my own vocal coaching business, where I teach techniques to students of all ages. This experience has solidified my vocal training and allows me to give my best on every stage, in every recording booth, and in front of any audience. As a songwriter and arranger, I draw deeply from my own pain, fully believing in the power of music to help us process emotions. My songwriting journey spans the last eight years, and I grew up constantly writing, collaborating, and performing with others in Singapore. While at university, I participated in weekly songwriting sessions with local artists, and when I moved to England, I started my own band. Writing in genres like rock and pop helped me balance grungy guitar rhythms with emotive lyricism, and leading a band as the only female and lead vocalist pushed me to grow creatively and innovate continuously. Sign in: https://www.twine.net/signup_ During my time at university, I had the honor of studying songwriting under Professor Andrea Rushton, a key industry leader. I wrote, arranged, and self-produced my EP SHE, which earned me a First-Class Honours in Songwriting & Arrangement. Music production, to me, is an extension of songwriting. It elevates the emotions and storytelling in a piece. While I'm confident in my arrangement skills, I'm continuing to develop my mixing and mastering abilities. I'm proficient in Ableton Live 12, Logic Pro X, and ProTools. My most recent project was a 30-minute dance track I co-produced for Dance Company Ren, focused on the four elements of nature and human connection. (You can view the project on my profile.) In July 2024, I graduated with a First-Class Honours degree in Songwriting & Production from Falmouth University. I'm now focused on developing my artistry and plan to release my own EP in early 2025. You can learn more at: ranyaiyer.com

In 2021, I started an online & in-person vocal coaching business while pursuing my undergraduate degree. I taught up to 30 weekly recurring students for over 2 years. This business was the catalyst for my financial literacy as I was forced to learn how to budget, attract more students and keep my business consistent during the Covid-19 period. Doing this at the age of 19 was a challenging venture however, it led to an increase in my confidence and conviction.
