Rick Zieff is a familiar voice in commercials, animation, videogames, podcasts, and audiobooks. He has been the voice of Spike the Dog on “The Tom and Jerry Show” (Daytime Emmy nomination for Best Performer) for nine years. He plays Grandpa Loud in Nickelodeon’s “The Loud House”, Boss in “Ginji”, recurs in “The Cuphead Show!”, and voices roles in “We Bare Bears”, “Clarence”, “Infinity Train”, “Space Racers”, “Yo-Kai Watch”, “The Mr. Men Show”, and “Olivia”. Recent video game credits include Batman in “BATMAN: The Arkham Asylum Files”, Alastor Moody in “Harry Potter: Magic Awakens”, “Lord of the Rings”, “Half-Life: Alyx”, “Resident Evil 3”, “Bugsnax”, “Elder Scrolls”, “World War Z”, “Shenmue 3”, “Wasteland 3”, “Mass Effect: Legendary Edition”, “Adios”, “Asgard’s Wrath”, “Fallout 76”, “The Vanishing of Ethan Carter”, and “Final Fantasy VII Rebirth”. Rick has narrated many audiobooks, from Disney’s “Toy Story” (1, 2 and 3) to James Patterson’s “ER Nurses”, and voices numerous e-learning videos.
Rick is known as much for his voice directing and casting as he is for his voice acting. For Baby Octopus he voice-directed the series “Sherwood”, starring Joseph Fiennes (“The Handmaid’s Tale”), Jamie Chung (“The Gifted”), Tyler Posey (“Teen Wolf”), and Anya Chalotra (“The Witcher”). He directed this season’s “Care Bears” TV series, co-directed the top-rated “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners”, and “The Walking Dead” videogame. Rick has received critical acclaim for his voice direction of Otomo’s film “Steamboy”. He helmed all the episodes of “Get Blake” for Nickelodeon, and is currently directing the animated series “Ginji”. Among Rick’s numerous credits in casting and voice directing Alternate Reality Games are “The Dark Knight”, “The International”, “Pirates of the Caribbean”, “Tron: Legacy”, and “Dig”. He enjoys the scripted podcast space as well, beginning with casting and voicing roles in “Hollywood and Crime” for Wondery, and starring in the upcoming “Shipwreck”.
Of particular note is his casting of “The ChubbChubbs!”, winner of an Oscar® for Best Animated Short Film.
