uniE621 Flyer for retailer L.L.Bean Japan’s special edition tote bag
The Challenge L.L.Bean’s Japan division introduced a limited-edition version of its iconic tote bag to celebrate the annual cherry blossom festival. Since this exclusive release fell outside the brand’s standard catalog cycle, the team needed an effective way to drive demand. To reach customers directly, we designed a flyer to be inserted into catalog mailings. Solution and Outcomes With the spring product photography already completed, a special photo shoot was required to properly showcase the tote. I was asked to art direct the shoot, working with a local photographer to highlight the bag’s unique red and pink colour scheme. To enhance the visual appeal, I worked with the merchandising team to style the shoot using carefully selected L.L.Bean outdoor accessories, reinforcing the connection to the brand’s core offerings. The design balanced warm cherry blossom tones with cooler background elements, evoking the atmosphere of hanami—Japan’s beloved cherry blossom viewing tradition. Clear pricing and item details ensured easy ordering via phone, which was the brand’s primary sales channel at the time. The campaign was a resounding success—the tote bag sold out within weeks and went on to become a collector’s item both in Japan and internationally. graphicdesigner branding https://www.twine.net/signin

    The Challenge
In the highly competitive networking security market, HPE Aruba Networking needed an interactive brochure that would stand out and provide C-level executives with a quick, engaging way to identify the best solution adoption path for their organisation. The final piece needed to guide readers from a high-level overview to a clear, compelling call to action.

    Solution and Outcome

Following HPE’s recent brand refresh, I was tasked with applying the updated brand guidelines in a fresh, modern way to create an engaging and interactive learning experience.

For the imagery, the focus shifted from showcasing devices and screens to highlighting human connection — showing people interacting with each other or directly engaging the viewer to create a more relatable, approachable feel.

Complex networking concepts were distilled into easy-to-follow diagrams positioned after the introductory sections to maintain clarity and flow. Interactive links were embedded throughout the brochure to help users navigate seamlessly and take action, such as learning more or scheduling a sales meeting.

The brochure received positive feedback from HPE’s field marketing team, driving strong engagement. A second version was later developed to target a related market segment, reinforcing the success of the initial approach.
