Honestly, when it comes down to it, I live and breathe video games, in our industry, who doesn’t? From playing endless hours of League of Legends, with friends or by myself, to grinding away in Path of Exile, trying to get the perfect Watcher’s Eye. I have spent all my life putting my all into video games. At this point 5+ years ago I put my all into learning how to develop games, I gravitated heavily to Unity, but I dabbled in other Engines, and even attempted to make games natively on Android Studio and XCode. I have started enjoying everything to do with games, because in it’s own way making them can be as exhilarating as playing them. The puzzles that creating games present really entice me to do my best, and to give it my all. It’s like I’m constantly being pulled into the gravity of figuring out that last bug, or completing my next task that I sometimes struggle to put it down. It causes me to notice that the grind of creating games is not unlike the grind of making them, and I love that.
