I have had the privilege of working with and supporting authors for over 10 years. My author-forward approach began during the four years I spent at the Writers’ Federation of Nova Scotia as the Communications & Development Officer. During my time there, I assisted writers of all levels and all genres, and designed workshops and professional development sessions to help them succeed. It was during my four years working on marketing strategies and launches for series such as Starship’s Mage that I developed and refined many of the skills that I am now able to offer to authors on a freelance basis. I live in beautiful Halifax, Nova Scotia, on Canada’s East Coast. Celebrating and promoting genre fiction comes easily to me as I am a prolific cosplayer who attends cons all over North America. I’m also a writer, with a degree in English and Creative Writing from Dalhousie University. I’m not just working for genre authors - I’m one of you. Though, I’ve yet to publish! I know firsthand how difficult that process is, whether you’re going it alone or searching for an agent. My time at WFNS made me very aware of how many people are out there who want to take advantage of the hopes and dreams of authors. My practice actively pushes back against that.
