Passionate about design and visual storytelling... I have had the great fortune to craft a career that encompasses many of my interests: geology, ecology, history, education, maps, and art. Technical skills came with time and training, using platforms such as Adobe Creative Suite and ArcGIS Pro to bring natural science information together in intelligible and visually appealing ways. When I am not, crafting graphics, performing geospatial analyses, making maps, or writing interpretive texts, I am usually learning languages, teaching English as a foreign language, running, cooking, traveling, and spending time with my husband and daughter. I am a graphic designer and geologist with over 25 years of experience creating visually impactful designs that communicate complex scientific concepts. With advanced certifications in GIS and graphic design, I have worked on a wide range of projects, including the production of large-format maps, graphics, and reports for the Geologic Resources Inventory (GRI) program with the National Park Service. In this role, I led the development of hundreds of original graphics, templates, and logos, and designed materials that both inform and engage diverse audiences. In addition to designing educational maps and illustrations, I have extensive experience using Adobe Creative Suite, ArcGIS Pro and Online, and other design tools to craft materials for publications, websites, and conferences. With a deep understanding of physical sciences and a talent for translating technical information into accessible visuals, I enjoy combining creativity and artistic vision with scientific concepts for visual storytelling and connecting people with the natural world.
