Viviana Torres-Mestey is a Puerto Rican journalist, professor, photographer, designer, and actress who has also worked as a director and producer in film, television, and theater in her country for the past 22 years. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Puerto Rico in Río Piedras, completed an MFA in Digital Photography at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, and is about to complete a PhD in Design at the University of Palermo in Argentina. In 2012, she founded the non-profit organization Enfocarte, Inc., dedicated to art and education, and since 2021 she has managed her photography, art, and design studio, Estudio Creativo 1344. She is a researcher in visual literacy, surrealism, creative processes, self-portraiture, and photographic design, and has presented her research projects at academic conferences in the United States and Argentina. Her photos have been exhibited in countries such as Cuba, Mexico, Spain, Moscow, Hungary, and Paris, and have been internationally awarded and published. She also received the award from the Council of Plastic Arts of Santiago de Cuba, the Order of the Good Citizen of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and had one of her pieces in a temporary digital exhibition at the Louvre Museum in Paris, among many other recognitions for her work in culture. She is currently the author of two books of short stories and works as a producer, journalist, university professor, and collaborates in theatrical, film, and television productions as an actress, director, production designer, and screenwriter.
