    This piece is a gauche-painted illustration based on the book “The Enchanted River”. This Illustration depicts the girl kneeling down in front of the river observing the fairy tale objects floating. I wanted the overall look to be ominous and unsettling. I utilized a darker color palette to get this effect as well as, facial expressions, and text. The river appears to glow casting light onto neighboring objects. I felt this enhanced the overall “enchantment” of the river. This was a college assignment. We were given a chapter of the book to create an Illustration on.
