For one of our retail clients, I am currently looking for a UX/UI Designer for a project in Amsterdam for 6 months.
You will join the team working on digital Inclusive Design team. The purpose is to ensure that the digital experiences and products meet the needs of diverse customers and co-workers. One key foundation area is about digital accessibility and ensuring compliance w/WCAG standards. We need an experienced accessibility practitioner to support our product teams on issues of accessibility. This role is mostly tactical in nature, but will also have some ties into building our overall company strategy for accessibility.
Background:
The preferred candidate would come from a UX design an/or engineering background with some type of certification in digital accessibility. The person needs to have extensive competence in technical accessibility concepts and tools, and how to incorporate accessibility into digital product development practices. And we especially encourage applicants who use assistive technologies personally and professionally to apply.
The scope of the project:
- Respond to,and help guide the fixing of any digital accessibility design needs coming from stakeholder requests for support through Jira tickets.
- Conduct digital accessibility audits and give recommendations for how to correct incidents identified.
- Test digital products and services on their digital accessibility compliance according to WCAG.
- Work with designers and engineers on providing basic understanding on digital accessibility through coaching and training facilitation
Requirements:
- Digital accessibility audits, testing, and problem resolution
- Various accessibility standards and testing tools
- JAWS, NVDA, iOS VoiceOver, and/or Android Talkback
- Global accessibility laws, guidelines, and regulations
- Working with global enterprise companies
- Measuring the business value of design
- Thrives in an ambiguous environment where we are paving the way to a transformation from scratch
- 4-7 years of experience
What 3 things from the box above are most important?
