Social Media & Creative Assistant
Are you looking to grow your experience with social media and graphic design? We are a fast growing sunless tanning studio located in Georgetown hiring a part-time employee to help create and design strategic, supportive content for our social media platforms, to engage and connect with our audience and followers, and design our communications.
This position will start at 8 hours/week with potential for growth.
LOCATION
We are located in Washington, D.C. in Georgetown. You will be primarily remote, minus the occasion you will need to come in for photos, Reels, etc. (Applicant must be located locally in the United States)
OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION:
The SM & Creative Assistant is responsible for all images that will be posted to our social media platforms, the written posts, Reels, Stories, etc. as well as in our printed and digital collateral (labels, menus, emails, signage).
- You’re a self-starter. Must be able to create and manage a social media posting schedule.
- You’re proactive. Must be able to direct the business in creating Reels and bring your own creative ideas to the table.
- You’re informed. Must be ahead of social media trends and have fresh ideas for our platform. We expect you to have a solid understanding of quality content that drives up social media traffic and moves the reader along to the next step in their journey. You know how to find and integrate images that not only match a specific aesthetic, but will also perform well.
- You’re organized. Must schedule images/posts/Reels each week/month without much direction.
- You’re self-motivated. You thrive working independently and can get the job done with little to no oversight.
- You’re meticulous. A product or location tag will never go missed in an IG post!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Write and schedule weekly content for our IG page from a high-level approach.
- Identify and suggest aesthetic updates needed (signage, website graphics, marketing collateral, etc).
- Design emails to clients.
- Develop and Manage:
- Instagram feed posts, IG reels, stories, Tik Tok, and more.
- IG aesthetic.
- Quarterly photo shoots for content.
- Design graphics in Canva to support content.
- Create thumb-stopping stories that drive engagement.
- Find targeted accounts to follow and interact with to grow account exposure.
- Respond to IG comments in a timely manner.
- Report on trends you are noticing in responses that could inform future content and marketing messaging.
- Review the social media traffic and create a report (monthly).
- Participate in Zoom meetings when needed.
- Design monthly emails.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Be exceptionally confident in writing and selecting imagery that supports our business and aesthetics.
- Be highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Be proficient with Canva and/or other graphic design programs.
- Be passionate about seeing businesses thrive.
- Be self motivated and able to complete tasks without having someone overseeing.
