Job DescriptionOverview

Yoga Playgrounds is Portland’s premier school based yoga enrichment program for kids founded in 2010. We offer classes in schools as well as teacher trainings and professional development workshops for educators. We believe the practices of yoga and mindfulness set the foundation for a lifetime of good health and well being and are the perfect compliments to a child’s busy school day.

Responsibilities

• Create compelling visual layouts, templates and designs for all newly created print and digital products such as training manuals, yoga and mindfulness guides, e-learning books, teaching tools, classroom resources, marketing materials, newsletters, social media posts and online courses.
• Create aesthetically pleasing design elements for our marketing materials that enrich the experience and emotional engagement of the viewer.
• Create diverse and inclusive design elements that appeal to a wide and larger audience, and empowers everyone - regardless of age, race/ethnicity, size, shape, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion and different abilities - to feel valued and worthy.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, or equivalent expereince.
• Highly proficient in design software such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc).
• A solid portfolio demonstrating your professional level design and illustration skills. SAMPLES REQUIRED AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION
• Motion graphics abilities a plus.
• Ability to brainstorm creative concepts independently.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.

Compensation

We are a small but growing, woman owned business with 2 full time employees and 17 contract teachers on staff. We value meaningful relationships, collaboration and a healthy work/life balance. This position offers flexible hours and it is remote, so you can work from the comfort of your home or wherever else you like. This is a part time, contract position offering $25+/hour to start for 10-15 hrs/week. There is the potential for more hours, higher pay, and the transition to a salaried position after 3 months if desired.
