Job Description
Experian Consumer Services (ECS) are the team behind your Experian Free Credit Score, Experian Boost, and the advanced Credit Expert product. ECS Technology are part of an agile business unit within Experian that has been through a complete technical and organisational transformation.
We have an exciting new opportunity for a UX Lead to join on a 9-month fixed-term contract to play a crucial role in helping consumers to better understand, improve and monitor their credit score and report. We are looking for someone that is highly skilled at crafting exceptional experiences, with the vision to create the next generation of consumer products for Experian. You will also be responsible for leading and inspiring a team of designers, who will work with you to transform Experian’s current products.
You will help to drive significant transformation for our business, working in close collaboration with Heads of Product to define the future experience and identify new opportunities to solve everyday problems that our customers have – through researching, concepting and validation. We have an ambitious roadmap ready for the year ahead.
We have a flexible approach to working and accommodate remote, hybrid or in-office preferences, but you may need to occasionally visit either our London or Nottingham office.
Work That Matters - What You’ll Be Doing
- Be part of a leadership team responsible for defining the product vision and design strategy.
- Guide and organize discovery, research, and data synthesis to identify critical user insights and develop hypotheses to design effective experiences.
- Perform investigative analysis to uncover the product’s wows and woes, relative to market/consumer trends, competitive threats, market opportunities, and consumer experience.
- Generate new ideas or concepts by leading workshops, structured brainstorms, or other collaborative exercises.
- Develop and test new propositions that solve the problem identified and validate that the concept is desirable and addresses the jobs to be done.
- Deliver high-quality work through wireframe/prototypes as well as leading a small team of designers that are focused on the improvement of customer journeys and flows.
- Create world class experiences and designs which will underpin Experian’s core consumer products.
- Act as a coach, trainer and mentor within the team and broader product team.

- A track record of creating amazing, user centric experiences and designs
- Leadership skills to build, lead and grow experience design teams
- Deep understanding of design craft, tools, and the user-centred design process
- Strong understanding of user research and testing
- Confidence in communicating, defending, and building consensus around design decisions
- Experience working with people at all levels, including senior stakeholders
