Video Producer / Editor for Wizard Academy and Whiskey Vault

We’re a non-traditional business school for entrepreneurs in South Austin with an online education program as well as monthly podcast style Q&A’s. We use video to create content to stay in touch with our alumni, announce new programs, teach online classes, create ads, and motivate engagement with our school.

We also have the biggest whiskey review channel on YouTube.

Our team is seeking a highly motivated person to help conceptualize and produce entertaining and informative content for our audience. This begins as a part-time position, with the goal of a full-time (salary) job if we’re a great fit and we can create more income driving content.

Be prepared to work with us in our South campus a couple of days a week (9:00am - 5:00pm Tues and Wed?) The exact days and times are somewhat flexible so we can prioritize finding the best talent over specific availability.

You’ll work directly with our Campus team to brainstorm, research, write, shoot, and edit ideas into completed YouTube videos. We like to have fun and often get silly, but we’re serious when it comes to getting results and providing great experiences for our fans and guests on our 20-acre property. Some of the videos are light-hearted and high on humor. Some are more serious business discussions to help teach skills to entrepreneurs across the world.

THE SKILLS we need in order of priority:

1. Editing:

• Our other editors are using FCPX
• We try to make our cuts tight. Energetic. Funny.

1. Writing:

• You need to take the lead to conceptualize, research, and plan entertaining episodes

1. Shooting:

• You need to be a competent shooter. Nothing extraordinary, just professional. We already have a cinematographer.
• Good cinematography would be a plus but stable and solid is more important

1. After Effects Animation / FX:

• We don’t do much AE work, but if you’re familiar with AE you get bonus points that will open more opportunities for you.

1. Social media:

• Lots of stuff for us to do on social media, but it’s not a huge priority for this gig. However, if you’re already amazing at the socials - it will open more opportunities for you.

Pay: $1,500.00 - $2,000.00 per month
