Job Description:

Zimmerman Associates Inc. (ZAI) is seeking a UI/UX web designer for a 4-6 month contract position for a large-scale Drupal website redesign government project. The ideal candidate will have UI/UX skills, technical skills in HTML and CSS, and experience in working with commercial clients in regulated industries like Healthcare, Finance, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or Energy/Utilities.

• Apply user-centered design principles to improve workflow, expand functionality, and enhance visual appeal of the website and mobile app
• Design wireframes, user flows, mock-ups, and prototypes
• Gather requirements from users and stakeholders, define information architecture, create user personas, and document user workflow
• Create responsive design mock-ups for various devices and adapt designs to different screen sizes
• Create a style guide for maintaining visual consistency and adhere to accessibility guidelines
• Participate in project meetings, provide status updates, and ensure quality deliverables

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree with a focus on visual design, human-computer interaction, or related discipline
• 3-5+ years of UI/UX design experience with a strong portfolio
• Experience working with Federal Government or regulated industries
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and Drupal 10 development
• Knowledge of U.S. Web Design System standards, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and design tools
• Ability to obtain Agency Public Trust Security Clearance and have a reliable high-speed Internet connection

Additional Information:

• United States Citizenship is required for this remote position
• Understanding of Drupal theme layer, responsive/mobile design, WCAG, and Section 508 Compliance Standards is preferred
