Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Designer to join our multidisciplinary international team of strategists, designers, and developers in NYC. As a Senior Digital Designer at Base, you will have a deep understanding of multidisciplinary design with demonstrated experience across traditional and digital realms. You will collaborate with the Creative Director to lead the project team through ideation and concept development to design and implementation. You are a creatively driven person that shares our belief in simple, remarkable ideas and highly crafted brand experiences.

We are currently searching for both full-time and freelance candidates. For freelance candidates, we are open to remote work for US-based candidates. For full-time candidates, we are currently working in a hybrid model and expect candidates to be able to join us in the office at least three days a week.

Responsibilities

• You’ll be responsible for creating unique brand experiences on the web, translating brand essence into a relevant and differentiating online experience.
• Lead the design of branding and digital projects through conception, execution, and delivery.
• Manage the quality of design throughout all phases of a digital project, from concepts to guidelines delivery.
• Find creative ways to solve UX/UI problems, and present ideas as interactive prototypes (with motion or code a plus).
• Seek and work with talented collaborators who will enrich the work’s quality (creative developers, animators, art directors, photographers, filmmakers, etc.).

Qualifications

• 4+ years of creative experience
• Collaborative, proactive, positive, and rigorous
• Equal parts creative & strategic
• A restless thinker with a desire to challenge, surprise, and stretch those around you
• Both highly-skilled & well-rounded across all channels of design from digital to graphic design
• A passion for typography and graphic expression
• Experience designing and delivering websites or digital products as part of a team
• Culturally engaged and perpetually curious about the world around you
• Keen interest in digital projects, interactive design, branding, and concept-led design
• A deep understanding of UX principles across various form factors
• A diverse portfolio of work and background in designing digital experiences
• Expert level skills in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant design tools. Skills in After Effects and prototyping tools are a plus
• Ability to communicate ideas strategically and systematically to internal teams and clients

Compensation

The salary range for a full-time Sr. Designer role is $80,000 - $110,000. Freelance project fees depend on experience and the needs of individual projects.
