Job Description

The Senior Motion Designer (Fixed Term) will work collaboratively with the creative team and editorial partners to develop concepts and motion graphics for show opens, transitions, explainer graphics, and scenic studio graphics. The role involves fluidly working between 2D and 3D animation styles, designing and developing looks and packages for news programs, special events, and documentaries. The candidate will collaborate with creative directors, producers, and editors to create and deliver animated graphics while maintaining a vibrant creative mindset and attention to detail in animation, typography, timing, and movement to match the energy of a newsroom environment. Additionally, they are expected to stay updated on industry trends, new practices, and design/production tools.

Requirements

• BA/BS or BFA/MFA degree in motion design, animation, graphic design, or relevant experience.
• At least 5 years of professional experience producing high-end creative work for television.
• Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, including After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Expert knowledge of Maxon Cinema 4D + Redshift (or other accelerated renderers) for motion design is preferred.
• Proficient with plugins such as RedGiant, Boris FX, Sapphire, AE Expression, C4D Expresso, X-Particles, etc.
• Strong design/production portfolio required.
• Experience in a fast-changing environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to articulate design rationale and present design work effectively.
• Understanding of compositing techniques.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
• Passion for design, news, and entertainment with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Flexible schedule required.
