Job Title: Interactive Designer
Location: Edinburgh, UK (Hybrid – 2 days per week on site)
Rate: £550 - £600 per day (via Umbrella)
Duration: 6-month initial contract

Role Overview:

We have an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Interactive Designer to join one of our globally recognized financial services clients. The company is currently undergoing an ambitious digital transformation and is looking for an experienced designer to take ownership of their design output, working collaboratively with the existing design team.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable expertise in User Experience (UX) and Interaction Design, excellent prototyping and layout skills, and the ability to work with complex design systems in a financial services landscape. This is a great chance to contribute to impactful digital experiences that enhance the customer journey for millions of users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design Ownership: Take full ownership of design outputs, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional interaction design.
• Prototyping & Layout: Develop and present interactive prototypes and layouts that align with the project’s goals and customer needs.
• Design System Utilization: Utilize existing design systems effectively while recommending new ways to improve and extend them.
• Research-Driven Design: Interpret quantitative and qualitative research data to inform and enhance the interaction design process.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively within a diverse design team and communicate design concepts clearly to stakeholders, internal customers, and development teams.

Skills & Experience Required:

• UX & Interaction Design: Strong track record in user experience and interaction design, with a portfolio that demonstrates this experience.
• Prototyping Skills: Proficiency in developing interactive prototypes and presenting them effectively to a varied audience.
• Design Systems Knowledge: Experience using and extending existing design systems to create scalable and consistent designs.
• Research Interpretation: Ability to integrate research findings into the design process to create user-centric solutions.
• Financial Services Experience: Familiarity with working in complex landscapes, ideally with experience in the financial services industry.
