Job Description

Betterment is seeking a Website Developer to join our cross-functional Website Experience team. This role is crucial as our website serves as the front door to users’ experiences with Betterment, helping to tell our story, inspire actions, and enrich customer journeys with useful tools and content. The developer will own and improve our web development workflow for HubSpot CMS, become a DevOps expert for our public-facing application, and work closely with internal teams and external partners.

Requirements

• Experience working in theme development on CMS platforms (preferably HubSpot or Webflow; other platforms like WordPress, Joomla are acceptable).
• Portfolio demonstrating experience with rich animated or video-based web experiences using techniques such as Lottie, HTML5/CSS3.
• Experience with modern JavaScript techniques; server-side and TypeScript experience is a plus.
• At least 2-3 years of professional work experience in a web development role, preferably at a web development agency.
• Strong organizational skills with a focus on CSS management and accessibility (a11y).
• A passion for growth and seeing the results of your work come to life.
• Ability to excel in ambiguity and quickly become an expert in new areas.
• Data visualization background may be beneficial.

Benefits

Betterment offers a competitive total compensation package that may vary based on location, experience, and performance. The position is based in New York City with a salary range of $140,000 - $155,000. Benefits include:
