Job Description
We’re looking for an experienced, passionate, and detail-oriented UX/UI Designer to join our Next eCommerce team. If you have a knack for creating user-centred designs and a keen eye for visual aesthetics, we want to hear from you!
In this role, you’ll blend user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design to create intuitive, engaging, and visually appealing digital experiences for our partner brands. You’ll be responsible for understanding user needs, designing seamless interactions, and crafting beautiful interfaces that keep users engaged and ensure effortless navigation.
Requirements
Research and Analysis:
- Conduct user research through interviews, surveys, and usability testing
- Create user personas, journey maps, and empathy maps
- Analyse user behaviour, data, and industry trends
- Use these insights to identify opportunities for innovation
- Carry out regular site reviews to spot bugs, accessibility issues, and optimisation opportunities
UX Design:
- Identify user pain points and develop solutions to address them
- Create user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes
- Conduct usability testing and iterate designs based on user feedback
- Collaborate with product teams to define project requirements
- Work closely with content strategists to develop effective information architecture
UI Design:
- Create visually appealing experiences that align with brand guidelines
- Design intuitive user interfaces for web and mobile applications
- Develop and maintain UI component libraries and design systems
- Ensure consistency in design elements across different platforms and devices
- Create and document interaction designs
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with developers to ensure design feasibility and accurate implementation
- Present design concepts and research findings to stakeholders
- Participate in design critiques and provide constructive feedback to team members
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on the latest UX/UI design trends, tools, and best practices
- Contribute to the improvement of design processes and methodologies
- Coach less-experienced designers and support their professional growth
General Requirements:
- Proven experience in both UX and UI design, preferably in eCommerce or retail
- Strong portfolio demonstrating your design process and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in industry-standard design tools (e.g. Figma, Miro)
- Experience with prototyping tools
- Knowledge of user research methodologies and data analysis
- Understanding of web standards, responsive design, and accessibility guidelines (WCAG)
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively
