Job Description

You are a highly creative, passionate, and driven individual who will focus on Digital Document Solutions and create a better experience for our global network of clients, customers, and employees. As a Senior UX Designer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology Experience team, you will combine exceptional craft in visual design with strong problem-solving and communication skills. You are a master with Figma and capable of quickly drawing wireframes to effectively communicate ideas. Collaboration with designers, researchers, product managers, and developers is key to creating designs that balance user needs, business objectives, and technology. You are detail-oriented and advocate for the user.

Responsibilities

  • Creating wireframes and interactive POCs leveraging our design system.
  • Working with project teams and researchers to understand our users.
  • Collaborating with business analysts and developers to define user stories and product backlogs.
  • Participating in usability research to iterate and refine designs.
  • Presenting ideas to stakeholders and advocating for the user.
  • Collaborating with developers to realize and polish user experiences.
  • Actively contributing to and using common design language and design systems.
  • Mentoring and offering guidance to junior designers.
  • Collaborating with the team and stakeholders to create UX artifacts such as journey maps, empathy maps, and personas.
  • Leading the UX design process for multiple projects.
  • Evangelizing UX to business, stakeholders, and technology.

Requirements

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Computer Interaction, Interaction/Interface Design, Graphic Design, Technology Communications, or a related discipline from a major accredited college or university.
  • Advanced applied experience or equivalent compelling experiences as a designer for enterprise software, responsive web applications, mobile apps, and defining in-house style guides & documenting standards.
  • Expert with modern design tools – Figma, Sketch, Invision, or equivalent.
  • A balance of creativity, productivity, and a passion for elegant, simple, emotionally rich design.
  • Excellent communication, listening, and negotiation skills with clients and senior executives; ability to write, speak, and present information effectively, persuasively, and confidently in various settings.
  • Strong understanding and commitment to usability and user-centered design principles/methods, including a variety of usability evaluation techniques such as usability testing, contextual interviews, and heuristic evaluations.
  • Strong understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) and assistive technologies (JAWS, NVDA, Zoomtext), with a proven track record of incorporating them into daily work.
  • Experience across multiple teams and release cycles, working closely with design, product management, and development to realize experiences using agile project management.
  • A11y knowledge/experience.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Human Computer Interaction, Design, Technology Communications, or a related discipline.
  • Working knowledge of modern web application technologies: HTML, CSS, Javascript, Angular, Bootstrap, LESS/Sass, React.
  • Experience in conducting UX Research.
