Job Description

We are seeking a Lead UX Designer for a 24-month fixed-term contract based in Edinburgh, typically requiring 2 days in the office per week and 3 days from home. The role comes with a competitive salary ranging from Β£56,480 to Β£84,720, depending on your experience. The application closing date is January 23, 2025.

As a Lead UX Designer at Aegon, you will play a pivotal role in managing the user experience design for our digital platforms. You will be responsible for leading a team of up to six UX Designers, championing usability, and fostering a culture of accessibility and inclusion in our digital products. Your focus will be on creating user-centered solutions that balance desirability, feasibility, and viability throughout our design process.

Requirements

  • Expert skills in UX Design with a solid understanding of various design processes, including iterative design, journey mapping, design thinking, and scenario-based thinking.
  • Proficient in current wireframing tools and techniques such as Axure, Figma, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Expertise in workshop methodologies and tools like Miro.
  • Advanced knowledge of responsive and adaptive web design techniques, with a focus on mobile-first thinking.
  • Familiarity with accessible design requirements and WCAG compliance.
  • Understanding of branding implementation in digital channels and associated standards.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence across all levels and functions.
  • Strong understanding of the UX research process, with the ability to conduct or consult research effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and effective communication skills for presenting complex ideas visually and verbally.
  • Advanced understanding of digital measurement tools, techniques, and reporting.
  • Confidence to challenge requirements and creative proposals constructively.

Additional Information
