Job Description

We are seeking a talented and creative Junior Graphic Designer to join our team and support in the development of a variety of creative solutions. The ideal candidate should have a passion for graphic design backed by a portfolio showcasing a keen eye for detail, a strong sense of design, and the ability to create high-quality design intended for various solutions. This entry-level role involves delivering comprehensive graphic design solutions such as branding, brochures, banners, emailers, and various branded collateral. Additionally, the designer will support the development of creative solutions including websites, animations, e-learning content, social media posts, and contribute to the broader engagement of the Ascendant Studio brand across various social media channels. The role will involve collaboration with clients from diverse industries including banking, manufacturing, and service-based businesses.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Solutions:

• Create visually stunning, compelling, and effective designs for print and digital media.
• Design content for various platforms, including websites, social media, print materials, and adverts.
• Understand project briefs and deliver cohesive designs that meet client objectives.
• Design document templates and presentations for clients and internally.
• Work within clients’ existing brand systems to ensure visual consistency.
• Develop creative ideas and translate them into graphic design solutions.

Collaborate:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure design assets meet their needs.
• Brainstorm design solutions for clients’ communication challenges.
• Sourcing ideas to illustrate look and feel to indicate approach to client.

Day-to-day operations:

• Develop content and visuals to drive engagement and brand awareness for Ascendant Studio.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and implement innovative design techniques.
• Manage time effectively while working on multiple projects to meet deadlines.
• Report on progress and update task statuses.
• Maintain and update document storage, ensuring proper organization and adherence to storage policies.

Requirements

• 1 or more years’ experience as a Graphic Designer or in a similar role.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of design skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Attention to detail and a creative mindset.
• Some experience in online marketing, including social media management and content creation.
• Marketing experience is beneficial.

Software Application Requirements

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, including:
• InDesign
• Photoshop
• Illustrator
• Adobe Acrobat Pro
• Adobe XD or Figma (beneficial but not required)
• Microsoft PowerPoint
• Microsoft Word

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
