Job Description

Are you passionate about luxury beauty and eCommerce? Do you thrive in data-driven environments and excel at enhancing online experiences? We are a luxury skincare brand seeking an experienced Freelance Shopify Website Developer to elevate our online presence, improve user experience, and optimise website performance. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented developer with a strong eCommerce background and a passion for innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Head of eCommerce to enhance the site conversion rate through optimisation of the Shopify theme API and front-end cart API logic.
  • Implement and deliver key website roadmap initiatives alongside ongoing website maintenance tasks.
  • Integrate and manage third-party Shopify apps and APIs to expand site functionality.
  • Translate visual designs into fully functional Shopify theme code, including components, blocks, and sections.
  • Continuously stay updated on the latest trends in front-end development, Shopify platform updates, and eCommerce best practices to improve performance.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on Shopify development experience.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, and React.
  • Strong experience with GitHub, Webpack, and Node.js.
  • In-depth knowledge of Liquid templating, Shopify API, and JSON.
  • Familiarity with third-party Shopify apps and integrations.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of UX/UI design principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics 4 or Shopify Analytics for data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience with Shopify Plus.

Desirable:

  • Experience working within luxury beauty or related sectors.
  • Knowledge of TypeScript.
  • Experience with headless commerce or custom API development.

Skills & Qualifications

Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Strong analytical skills to break down and analyse data and optimise performance.
