Job Description

Lighthouse Magazine is an independent online publication established on August 1, 2024, dedicated to publishing articles in both Ukrainian and English on social, cultural, and historical topics. The magazine aims to support Ukrainians, counteract Russian propaganda, highlight human stories, challenge stereotypes about migrants, support social enterprises, and promote authentic Ukrainian culture. We are currently seeking a volunteer Graphic Designer or Illustrator to create visual content for our articles and social media.

Requirements

This role is ideal for you if you:

• Are fluent in Ukrainian and English, as our content is bilingual;
• Share our values and are eager to contribute to a meaningful project;
• Are seeking creative experience in the media field;
• Wish to enhance your portfolio with high-quality illustrations and design projects;
• Are transitioning into graphic design or illustration and want hands-on experience;
• Possess a strong visual sense with understanding of composition, colors, and typography.

Responsibilities

Your tasks will include:

• Creating illustrations and/or designs for articles;
• Developing visual content for social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads);
• Collaborating with the editor-in-chief and social media manager;
• Occasionally communicating with authors to clarify visual concepts;
• Working approximately 2-4 hours per week on a flexible schedule.
