Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Frontend Developer to join our team. This role will focus primarily on WordPress new builds and project/code management, as well as supporting existing Shopify sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of frontend technologies and a passion for delivering high-quality work.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building new WordPress websites from scratch, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
  • Managing WordPress projects, including maintaining clean, structured code and version control.
  • Supporting and maintaining existing Shopify websites, including theme modifications and plugin installations.
  • Working closely with an internal team (design, project management, other developers) to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Testing your own work before deployment to ensure functionality and quality.
  • Using the latest, stable frontend technologies (HTML, PHP, CSS, and JS) to enhance website performance and user experience.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of commercial experience in frontend development.
  • Strong expertise in WordPress development, including custom themes and plugins.
  • Experience managing and maintaining Shopify sites, including theme updates and plugin integrations.
  • Proficiency in CSS and JavaScript to create visually appealing and functional interfaces.
  • Ability to test and debug your own work before handover.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in the office at least one day per week.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Shopify Plus.
  • Client-facing experience, including gathering requirements and providing technical insights.
  • Knowledge of WooCommerce and its ecosystem of 3rd party modules.
  • Experience with graphic apps like Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, or Canva.
  • Experience with kanban project management boards.

Additional Information

This role requires working three days a week at a rate of £200 per day.
