Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Back-End Developer with a focus on Python and Django to join a leading and rapidly growing FinTech company. This role is remote but requires applicants to be based in or around Glasgow for occasional team meet-ups. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining back-end services and APIs, collaborating with various teams, focusing on performance and security, contributing to architectural decisions, mentoring junior developers, and ensuring high standards of development practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain back-end services and APIs using Python and Django.
• Collaborate with product, design, and front-end teams to build high-quality, scalable features.
• Focus on the performance, scalability, and security of core systems and services.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technology strategies.
• Mentor and guide junior developers, ensuring high standards of development practice.
• Ensure clean, maintainable, and efficient code through rigorous code reviews.

Key Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Back-End Developer with strong expertise in Python and Django.
• Proven experience working in FinTech or a similar regulated environment is a plus.
• Strong experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL), APIs, and web frameworks.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerisation tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Ability to handle complex technical challenges and design scalable, high-performance systems.
• Strong communication skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach to teamwork.
