Job Description

TEGNA Inc. is seeking a Producer/Editor to engage audiences with creative promos, social media content, and other highly-produced television elements for the True Crime Network and Quest. The ideal candidate is an experienced editor of promos for broadcast TV or cable, proficient in Premiere editing tools, skilled in creating motion graphics, and capable of writing short scripts. Applicants must be able to organize media efficiently and utilize the programming schedule to ensure timely delivery of promos. Successful candidates will be team players who thrive on collaboration and who may have experience in developing sizzle reels for new show concepts.

Requirements

• Minimum three years experience as a producer/editor for a media property, preferably in a marketing/promotional capacity.

• Exceptional writing and organizational skills.

• Experience managing voice-over talent and meeting deadlines.

• Proficient in using Facebook and Twitter, and responding professionally to social media feedback.

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, file transfer systems, Microsoft Word, and Excel.

• Strong demonstrated experience in motion graphics.

• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Media, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Write, produce, and edit on-air promos for both True Crime Network and Quest.

• Collaborate closely with the Director of Production and programming team to execute promotional schedules effectively.

• Manage relationships with voice-over talent for all promotional materials.

• Create development sizzle reels for pitching original series and documentaries in collaboration with the Director of Production.

• Develop associated social media content to enhance audience engagement.

• Respond to social media and email feedback, ensuring viewers feel heard and relaying relevant feedback to leadership.

• Approach responsibilities with enthusiasm, creativity, and a proactive mindset.
