Job Description

We are seeking a Junior Designer to help bring our seasonal ranges to life, combining your eye for detail with our brand’s creative vision and commercial goals. This role will collaborate with the Creative Director and cross-functional teams to design high-quality, trend-driven products that embody FINE-DAY’s signature style. From conceptualisation to product launch, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our collections are market-relevant, on-brand, and commercially successful.

TASKS INCLUDE:

• Research and identify key trends, items, colors, and styling for seasonal ranges.
• Create technical designs using Adobe Illustrator or 3D modeling software.
• Develop comprehensive supplier handover documentation/tech packs.
• Liaise with factories, suppliers, and agents to develop and produce high-quality products.
• Attend fit sessions and sample reviews, ensuring styles meet FINE-DAY’s standards.
• Maintain and update working range sheets and style files.
• Support product pricing to achieve sales, margin, and markdown targets.
• Analyse weekly sales reports and assist with end-of-season reviews.
• Ensure samples are prepared and handed over to the Marketing Team for maximum brand exposure.
• Collaborate with the Visual Merchandising Team to present seasonal ranges.

This is an on-site role working 5 days per week, based in our St Kilda Road offices.

Requirements

• A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent in Fashion Design, Product Development, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in fashion design or product development.
• Proficiency in Adobe Suite, particularly Illustrator.
• Strong technical knowledge and experience working with offshore suppliers.
• Familiarity with critical path management and seasonal planning.
• A strong understanding of market trends and competitor analysis.
• Exceptional multitasking and time management skills.
• A passion for high-quality standards and maintaining brand alignment.
• Creative flair, attention to detail, and commercial acumen.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
