Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Platform Foundation Team across locations in France, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. The Platform Foundation Team’s mission is to enable teams by developing the platform itself, along with authentication and authorisation for users and services.

Some current projects include developing an event bus for cross-service communication, improving and scaling the Message Queue system handling 90M asynchronous messages daily, and enhancing platform security. You’ll collaborate with fellow back-end engineers to ensure software quality by introducing new technologies, setting quality standards, exchanging experiences, and engaging in extensive cross-team backend initiatives.

Requirements

• Excellent demonstrable experience developing web applications with PHP & Symfony / Laravel.

• Mastery of software design principles and back-end application architecture, preferably experience with Layered Architecture and Domain Driven Design.

• Experience designing scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant services.

• Experience with test automation tools and frameworks, including identification and implementation of comprehensive automated testing.

• Good communication skills with a collaborative and empathetic mindset.

• Exposure to agile and lean development processes as part of a modern team.

Nice to have:

• Experience with GraphQL, GitLab pipelines, Kubernetes, and AWS.

• Exposure to Event Driven Architecture.

• Experience designing scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant services.
