Job Description

DWP Digital with Purpose is seeking enthusiastic Content Designers to join its community. Our multidisciplinary digital teams utilize innovative ideas and cutting-edge technology to create and maintain digital solutions used by millions across the UK. You will be part of our Gov.uk team, focusing on creating and managing guidance and tools trusted and utilized daily by the public.

The role involves making content easy to understand through thoughtful design and structure, whether it concerns digital applications, emails, or letters. By putting users’ needs at the forefront, you will ensure customer interactions with government are clear and straightforward, utilizing evidence to refine your content. Collaboration with diverse stakeholders is essential, requiring the ability to communicate and justify your decisions effectively.

Requirements

• Substantial experience in creating accessible, plain English content, adhering to content processes and guidelines.
• Experience using quantitative and qualitative data for content-related decisions.
• Able to demonstrate various methods for showcasing, explaining, and testing content.
• Experience participating in a community of practice, including reviewing others’ content and receiving feedback on your own.
• Collaboration experience with individuals from various disciplines.
• Advocacy for user-centered, evidence-based content to stakeholders.
• Ability to articulate how your work contributes to achieving organizational outcomes.
• A content design exercise (details provided in the application).

Details

Location: You will work in one of our digital hubs located in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, or Sheffield, based on your convenience.

Hybrid Working: We operate on a hybrid model, allowing work from home and in-person collaboration at a hub.

Pay: We offer a competitive salary of up to £45,081.

Pension: Access to a civil service pension with employer contributions of 28.97%.

Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 26 days, increasing to 31 days over time, with additional flexi-time options for up to 3 extra days off a month, along with all public holidays.
