Job Description

Duration: 2-3 Months - Strong possibility of extension

Pay Rate: £53 - £56/hr PAYE

We’re looking for a gameplay scripting expert to help drive the design, prototyping, and implementation of engaging content across VR, mobile, and PC.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement polished, reusable gameplay elements.
• Create efficient, refined scripted gameplay elements.
• Prototyping gameplay designs to illustrate concepts.
• Overseeing cross-platform playtesting and using generated data to iterate design.
• Generating paper designs for sign-off by stakeholders.

Requirements

Experience: 7+ years of experience in gameplay scripting, technical design.

Technical Skills:

• Understanding of game architecture and ability to identify and implement common game mechanics and patterns in TypeScript or similar scripting languages.
• Interest in and understanding of a broad variety of game genres and styles on mobile & VR.
• Understanding of different audiences and their goals & motivations.
• Experience debugging and managing performance within a scripting environment.

Collaboration Skills: Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Interaction Design: Understanding differences in interaction design for different input devices (PC, console, mobile, VR).
