Job Description

The City of New York – OTI is seeking a Full Stack Web Developer with expertise in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Java, JavaScript, and web development to build and maintain websites and applications. The developer will work in a multi-site AEM environment and assist with WordPress Stack maintenance as the new site is built.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Education: No specific degree requirement, but strong expertise in AEM and web development is required.

Specialty Areas

  • Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) – Expertise in building components, templates, workflows, and managing multi-site implementations.
  • Full Stack Web Development – Strong experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Java for responsive web applications.
  • Version Control & Agile Workflows – Proficiency with Git-based workflows, Azure DevOps, JIRA, Trello, or other Kanban-style tools.
  • Technical Documentation – Ability to create technical design and implementation planning documents.
  • User Experience & Performance Optimization – Working with designers and product teams to ensure best UX/UI practices and high site performance.
  • Tag Management & Analytics – Experience customizing JavaScript in Tag Manager for dynamic variables, A/B testing, and user engagement tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and implement business requirements using standard AEM features.
  • Develop high-quality, well-documented HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Java code.
  • Modify AEM site content, assets, and workflows.
  • Ensure best practices and scalable architecture for multi-site web solutions.
  • Diagnose and resolve content management issues (dynamic linking, image scaling, site performance, etc.).
  • Conduct unit testing and collaborate with City Engineering leads on architecture and technical strategy.
  • Communicate technical needs and decisions effectively within an agile product delivery team.

Job Location: Brooklyn, NY (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Note: Candidates with state experience are required.
