Job Description
The City of Los Angeles seeks a Website Developer and Application Developer for the continued development and maintenance of the Economic and Workforce Development Department’s applications and public-facing websites. This role will enhance the department’s digital capabilities, allowing for timely updates, new feature implementations, and adherence to high standards of functionality and security. The Website Developer will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and developing content for the EWDD and Workforce Development Board (WDB) websites, collaborating with various teams to promote critical programs and ensure compliance with guidelines.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- 4+ years’ experience working with website and graphic design using Content Management Systems (CMS), HTML5, CSS and SCSS, and PHP.
- Strong background using Adobe Creative Suite applications, UI/UX Web User Interface Design, and Security Principles.
- Strong visual and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate website features, functionality, and design plans.
- Background in JavaScript, JQuery, Gantry5, Web Programming, Object-Oriented Design, Web Services (REST/SOAP), Multimedia Content Development, and MySQL.

Estimated Timeframe: The length of engagement will be for an 18-month period, with an estimated start date of January 1, 2025, and an estimated end date of June 30, 2026.
Additional Information
Consulting firms with current Master Agreements with the City Planning are invited to submit a brief proposal indicating their interest in this project. The submission must include a letter of interest, resume, and a portfolio of projects from the last two years, shared as a Google folder, submitted electronically to Andrew Wong in the Economic and Workforce Development Department by 5:00 p.m. PST by August 30th, 2024.
