Job Description

Job title: Junior Visual Designer

Location: This role is located in Edinburgh, Scotland. You may be required to travel to/work from any of our clients’ UK offices at any time.

Salary: £19,000 – £24,000 depending on experience.

Contract type: Permanent

Working pattern: Full-time 37.5 hours per week, Core hours 10:30 am - 3:30 pm

Reports to: Visual Design Specialist, Creative Director

Accountable to: Managing Director

Requirements

Essential knowledge, skills and experience

• Demonstrable experience of planning, researching, designing, and developing high-quality design assets and deliverables
• Experience with high-fidelity design tools, e.g. Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience with prototyping tools, e.g. Figma
• Excellent computer literacy skills (especially Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Ability to listen and respond to feedback positively
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently on projects
• Strong attention to detail
• Good organizational and planning skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills

Desirable knowledge, skills and experience

• Experience in a design role/team (client or agency-side)
• Experience using content management systems
• Experience in a design sprint process
• Knowledge of front-end web technologies
• Basic front-end coding skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Interest in video capture/editing and motion graphics
• Educated to degree level in a related discipline

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborating with the design team and senior consultants to define briefs and time estimates
• Conducting design research and presenting findings
• Developing and contributing to the design of client-facing deliverables
• Capturing and responding to feedback throughout the design process
• Ensuring quality assurance of all deliverables

Key Outputs and Activities

The design assets and deliverables include:

• Consultancy deliverables (e.g. site maps, personas, user journeys)
• Sales and marketing assets
• Digital interfaces (e.g. visual language libraries/style guides, websites)
• Print assets
• Visualisations & diagram creation
• PPT slide optimisations
• PPT and Word templates
• Motion graphics and video assets
