Job Description

Homes for Students is the leading independent provider of Student Accommodation. We’re looking for a bold and inspiring Senior Designer to join our growing team. The Senior Designer will assist with the creation and delivery of inspiring and engaging creative across multiple online and offline channels. Working closely with the Marketing Team, the role involves delivering multiple campaigns, brand collateral, and digital assets. The working hours are 40 hours per week, 9.00 am - 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday.

Under the direction of the Design Manager, the Senior Designer will be responsible for delivering high-quality creative work with consistent branding across web, social, print, and marketing touchpoints. The role demands strong creative thinking, effective design practices, and attention to detail.

Requirements

Major Duties

  • Lead on artwork delivery for seasonal marketing campaigns.
  • Manage the design project pipeline and tasks.
  • Oversee the design process from creative development to artwork sign-off.
  • Execute design work with flair, speed, and adherence to brand standards.
  • Understand brand, customer, and commercial objectives when responding to briefs.
  • Stay updated on design trends and apply them to the brand as needed.
  • Handle multiple briefs and provide progress updates to teams.
  • Support and mentor the design team with projects and personal development.
  • Coordinate production and distribution of print and digital materials.
  • Assist in creating campaign communication packs as required.
  • Recommend campaign optimizations as appropriate.
  • Stay informed on trends in the student accommodation market and competitors.
  • Occasionally liaise with suppliers and freelancers regarding artwork and production.
  • Maintain compliance with brand guidelines across all materials.
  • Undertake other tasks assigned by the Design Manager.

Skills

  • Strong design skills with a keen eye for detail and creativity.
  • Strong written English skills.
  • Proven track record in design and creativity.
  • Experience with social media and email marketing campaigns.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Able to work independently with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Essential

  • A detailed portfolio of previous work.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and After Effects.
  • Good understanding of social media marketing assets.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • At least two years of design experience with a proven commercial track record.

Desirable

  • A degree in graphic design or a related subject.
  • Experience of marketing and design within the student sector.
  • Experience of managing workloads or a team.

Additional Information

You may be required to assist with other areas of work, so be prepared to undertake additional duties as delegated by your line manager. Homes for Students operates over 44,000+ beds across the UK and Ireland, therefore some travel may be required in the role.
